2004 REUNION
This is it, folks! The year of the biggest and best ever Gathering of Lowthians! The dates are from Thursday, August 26th to Sunday, August 29th in beautiful Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. The Ottawa Crowne Plaza Hotel is the scene of the "Gathering Of The Lowthians, 2004". It will be an event you won’t soon forget!
2004 GATHERING CEIDLIDH
Join Leslie Farquarson, fiddle and step dancing, Ben Moyer on guitar, Jim Lowthian, bagpipes, Bill Moyer singing a selection of music from the .40s. He’d love to know what you would like to hear - e-mail me! And of course, bring your instruments and talents.
HOTEL RESERVATIONS
Time is running out to book your reservation at the hotel and save $$ at this fine hotel in downtown Ottawa.

Crowne Plaza Hotel Ottawa 101 Lyon Street, Ottawa, Ontario K1R 5T9 Toll-free reservations: 1.800.567.3600 www.crowneottawa.ca

TRANSPORTATION
Airport shuttle runs every half-hour and takes about 40 minutes. The cost is $20.00 return or $11.00 one-way per person. If you arrive in multiples, it may be better to take a cab (it is faster than parading around all of the downtown hotels. A cab will cost $25.00 to $30.00 before tip. THINGS TO DO AND SEE IN OTTAWA
The best way for travelers to find out about Ottawa is to either search the word "Ottawa", or go to www.tripadvisor.com, where there are some great recommendations. I suggest everyone takes in Parliament Hill (with or without the daily changing of the guard), the Byward Market, The Casino du Lac Leamy, any of the high-profile museums (The National Gallery, The Museum of Man, The Museum of Nature, The Aviation Museum, The Royal Canadian Mint etc.) Unfortunately the new Canadian War Museum will not be finished in time for the reunion. For the more adventurous, go white water rafting on the mighty Madawaska River - as you know - we all did this as a huge herd years ago - it was amazing! There’s always the RCMP Musical ride. There are so many things going on in Ottawa in August - it’s hard to decide - but best to know what’s available ahead of time. |
